I downloaded a couple of huge files that are .toast files? How do I open them? and burn to CD? i'm using OS9 ,Toast 3.57 , MAC G3 450 beige desktop---- are these files for osx ? thanks

.toast files are really just disk image files created in Toast. I don't think they're used much anymore, but you should be able to burn them directly to disk or open them in a newer version of toast.
Get yourself the newest version of Toast you can find. Version 4 or 5 will have four tabs to choose from. Choose "Other" and if you Control-click on the tab, you'll be able to select "Disc Image" as the type of file to burn.
Drop your .toast image into the window, and you should be able to select Mount and have it appear as a volume on your desktop. Otherwise you can choose Record and burn the image directly to a disc.

If it's a copy of OS X, you've just broken copyright laws. This is beside the fact that most people dont know how to copy an OS X disc because it contains information that isnt visible in the finder. If you mount the disk image, it destroys it. Other than that, we cant really help you do something illegal.

Toast files are for Toast, but you have a REALLY old version of toast. Toast is up to 5.2.1 and the old version of toast probably doesnt support disk images of the new version. You can TRY it by telling toast to burn from a disk image, then select the toast files you downloaded.
