Browse All Topicsi am trying to play my sirius satellite radio on my computer (mac osx) through the sirius website. whenever i try to start up the player, i get the following error:
The page “SIRIUS Player - 100% Commercial-free Music” has content of MIME type “application/x-mplayer2”, but you don’t have a plug-in installed for this MIME type. A plug-in should be available on this page:
http://www.microsoft.com/W
unfortunately, this microsoft page does not offer a mac plug-in. i have tried repetedly to just download the windows media player 9 for mac osx on the page as a potential solution, but it just comes up as a .sitx document on my desktop with a blank page icon that will not open.
i also downloaded the flip4mac software, but that doesn't seem to help.
i was on the phone with sirius tech support for 2 hours today about it and got nowhere. please help!!!
thanks

OK .. as I can't access Sirius I can't attest to whether their URLs are MAC friendly .. see this article about MSNBC website links which had a similar problem .. /article.p hp? story=2 0060812234 922750
mv_downloa d.htm - 2.1.0.33)

Assuming that the URL links are OK .. then it could be that Flip4Mac is not properly setup.
1. Ensure you've the latest version of Flip4Mac (http://www.flip4mac.com/w
2. In the System Preferences, Open the Flip4Mac Pane and make sure the Launch QuickTime Player link is NOT checked
3. Restart Safari and see if the links now work
If it still doesn't work .. check this article about possible Safari preferences

You should also be able to use the Windows Media Player for OSX version 9.
I went to download it today and it should be a .BIN file not a .SITX file which opend fine on my Mac.
If you try downloading it again and once installed .. copy the URL and in Windows Media Player , paste the URL into the File: Open Link dialog
Good Luck
