We use entourage 2004 11.3.6 to connect to exchange 2003 standard. This has been working fine till recently. We can recieve mail, but everytime we try to send mail we get the following error.
Entourage is unable to access the mail account you are using with the mail server configured for that account.

Entourage reports the error as follows:
"Error -18597.'
This is probably because the e-mail address you typed in the Exchange account dialog does not exactly match the one the server expects. Since the addresses don't match, it doesn't allow you to send."
Maybe check the e-mail address at your Entourage client and the Exchange server to make sure they match.
Here is another possiblity:
You may have two e-mail addresses:
a short one that also corresponds to the logins on the network and a longer one.
You may have to use the short one in your settings. The e-mail address is used for authentication to the SMTP and Exchange server and the long one might not work.

I was having the same issue. Make sure that you use the email that is listed as the default smtp address for the account in AD. You can do this by going to Active Directory for Users and computers under admin tools. Then go to users and right click on the user name and click properties. Check to make sure that the default smtp address is the same one your are using in entourage as your reply to address. This address will be the one that is in bold.
