Question

how do i print all the pages in iwork numbers?

Asked by: keithhungate

When I go to print a iWork Numbers document that has multiple sheets, it only prints one page of the document even if I tell it to "print all" in the driver.  I've tried multiple printers and this is the case across the board.  How can I print all the sheets at one time?

Keithhungate,

How are you doing?

Can you select the multiple sheets (ctrl + click, or apple + click) and then print "selected sheets" instead of "print all". This should get the multiple shets to print as one.

Hope this helps,
Kevin

redrumkev:

Thanks for the note, however it doesn't work.  I'm using a Mac and it only selects one sheet if I hold down command + click.  I can select all sheets by holding down shift + click but when I print it still on prints one sheet.

keithhungate,

1.Did you try contacting iWorks directly?
Perhaps what you are trying is not the way this is done in iWorks/Numbers.
Sounds like something they could fix in no time.
(Can someone else with the same hardware/software print all the sheets by selecting "Print All"?)

2. Instead of selecting "Print All", actually tell it what pages to print.
Specify: Pages 1 to 3

I haven't tried contacting iWork directly, but I've scoured every help article I can find to no avail.  I've also tried to specify pages as suggested and it doesn't work either.  I will try to contact the iWork team to see if they can help.

keithhungate,

So even if you specify Pages 1 to 3, ... it still only prints page 1?!
Very strange!

(Experienced Mac/Numbers/Pages/KeyNote user)

Ok, let's agree that it is not working: in the Print Dialogue, if you ask for All Pages (default) or a Page Range, it should print what you asked for.  I print what I want from Numbers on my PowerBook all the time, on several diff printers ate several diff sites' plus PDFs.  Without any problem.

It sounds like the problem is in the printer/printer driver you are using.  E.g. it is set up for one-page-at-a-time (and then load page ... push print button ... etc.)

Test: see if you can print more than one page from any other program.

1  If you bought the machine and the printer from Apple, best bet is to call Apple Support.
2  If you bought a package deal from a shop, call them.

Check in Numbers  File: Print sheet.

How are the lay out options set?

by: keithhungatePosted on 2009-01-05 at 06:19:29ID: 23295465

LadyKath,

Layout is set to "1 page per sheet".  I have also tried Incisive One's direction with seeing if other programs in iWork will print multiple pages and the answer is yes - I can print multiple sheets at the same time in Keynote and Pages. Telling it to print pages 1-3 for example doesn't help the cause either.  Thus, I'm thinking this is a Numbers issue and not a print driver problem.

keithhungate,

I think it is time for you to contact IWorks/Apple directly.

Problem was solved when I updated to iWork '09.  I guess it was an Apple issue.

keithhungate,

Instead of closing the question, why not select your post as the "Solution"

This would benefit others searching here with the same issue.
