Browse All TopicsI had to reinstall my OS on my mac laptop. After I reinstalled iWork8 (purchased at Micro Center last year) it asked me for a registration number. There is no registration number on the box or on the CD or on the manual. I tried all the serial numbers on the box, one by one but I kept getting the message that it couldnt be registered. During the original installation it had asked me for a registration number and though it said that it was an invalid number, it allowed me to use iWork8. Because of the re-installtion I can not use iWork8. Does anybody know how to solve this problem.?

Based on your statement that iWorks told you you had an invalid serial number when you first installed it, I suspect you were running in a reduced functionality mode on your original Mac.

Anyway, try The Genius Bar at one of the local Apple stores. They can walk you through the process. (Make sure you have your installation disk available when you call them.) I suspect they will need to give you a registration number, if they will do that. Pick an Apple Store out of the list generated here:

There are hacked serial numbers all over the web, but using one of those could have a negative impact somewhere down the road. In other words, I don't recommend using one!
Another possibility is to upgrade to iWork 09
Let me know here what you find out, please.
