Apple Mail Notes keep reappearing after deletion

Steps to reproduce problem:

1. Open Apple Mail on my MacBook.
2. Under the reminders, I click on one of the little yellow notes that I don't need any more and hit the delete key (it moves to the trash)
3. I go in to the Mail Trash folder, and empty it.
4. A few days later, I notice that the deleted note is back in there!

This problem only occurs with notes that were created (accidentally) in Notes/Greg's Gmail notes. The notes that I create in Notes/On My Mac work fine and sync to the iPhone, etc.

Here is a screen shot. Somehow these notes got stuck in "Greg's Gmail" notes. The notes "On my MAC" are the ones that sync with the iPhone and work all nice. But these ones in Gmail, just don't go away. I delete them, empty my deleted items. But as soon as I close and reopen mail.app they're right back there User generated imagePicture-13.png

Are you using Mobile Me?
Do you have the computer set to Sync Notes in the Mobile Me section of Preferences?

1. System Pref
2. Mobile Me
3. Sync
4. Notes (Checkbox)

Uncheck the "Notes" check box & Click Sync Now.
Delete any notes you want deleted.
Recheck "Notes" & Re Sync

Also, if you notice them reappearing after a few days, make sure the "Synchronize with Mobile Me" is set to "Automatically"

Hi. Thx. But I don't have Mobile Me
did you rebuild the notes mailbox?
Nope. Haven't tried that. How do you do that?
Actually, I "think" I figured it out. I right-clicked the notes, I clicked "Account Info", and "Mailbox Behaviors" and I unchecked where it says "Store notes in inbox".  I'm going to see what happened.

I tried to accept and award points to vicmacs, but the system wouldn`t let me. Sorry
Thanks! did it work?
vicmacs, great thought ... didn't even occur to me when I first read & thought about the users issue.
Thanks. I'll just close this and award the points. The experts-exchange system wouldn't let me award point any other way
