z-index Flash over PHP/HTML click error Firefox

Hi,
I have built a site that uses z-index to provide a full browser overlay on top of standard PHP. (Basically the client needs animation over the standard page). This is great and works beautifully in IE, but in Firefox, Safari and Chrome, I am unable to click anything that is below the Flash layer.
I imagine there is a way to solve this issue with a magic bit of CSS, except I haven't got a clue what it is, can someone please help me out with this??
