Anti Virus Program for Lotus Domino Servers

Do you have a recommendation for an Anti Virus program for Lotus Domino 6 servers?  I have used Trend Micro Mail Scan, but it failed us on the latest required version, 2.6  I have Symantec trial running currently, but they want to charge me per user, not per server.  Doesn't seem right.  Any suggestions?

Did you check Mcafee GroupShield ?

I believe most of the popular virus utlitity charge license per user and not server

Strange, I have been using NAV for Notes in my last two jobs without any issues at all.
They charge Per Server, and we got a discount I think as part of the NAV Corporate version.
I do NOT run an OS AV on the Notes server, but do occasionally scan it from another server.

The Notes server should not have any user defined Shares, and should be difficult to infect at the OS level.

I hope this helps !

qwaletee,

Thanks for the reminder.

I wound up purchasing eTrust from CA.  They have a much simplier licensing, product structure.  I am going to have the firm that sold us the licenses do the install, incase we miss something trying it ourselves.

On Symantec, it looks like their sales channel does not understand how to specify the price.  Our main vendor for computer items basically said I needed a license for each user that connected, 85 at $28.  Ouch.  It didn't sound right.  This was after the sales rep talked to their in house specialist.

On Trend, it was a sad way to lose our business.  We had purchased an annual maintenance program ($440) from a reseller, the original reseller who sold us the product.($1450 in 2000)  The second year they sent us a document that referenced us using Solaris, not NT.  I couldn't process their invoice in house because our controller said the paperwork has to correct.  This year they refuse to do business with us since we paid late, 188 days, even though it took them that long to get the paperwork correct.  It was their fault.  I'll never use EPlus Technology again.  Trend also messed up.  When going to LND6, we needed to move from Trend 2.5 to 2.6.  Our LND consultant installed 2.6 demo knowing we had the license.  The demo stopped working almost immediately.  When I called Trend, not knowing to problem I would be having with EPlus, they would not help fix the issue.  Trend could have sent us to another one of their resellers, but they missed the opportunity.

According to the consultant that deals with CA, they are doing a very aggressive markating campaign to grow in the antivirus space.  We purchased 5 licenses, usable for any situation, server or workstation, including the Domino extras.  $100.  Amazing.  I still need to see it in action.

I never did look at McAfee.

Thanks
