LOTUS NOTES 6 NSD IS RUNNING ERROR
WE ARE DEPLOYING AN UPGRADE FROM R5 TO R6. ALL CLIENT ARE NOW RUNNING 6.0.2.CF1. AFTER CONVERTING THE MAIL FILE AT THE SERVER THEN EXECUTING THE CLIENT, I GET A NSD IS RUNNING ERROR. A LOG GETS CREATED AND PLACE INTO THE IBM TECHNICAL SUPPORT FOLDER. DISABLING THE ENCRYPTION DURING REPLICATION AND DELETING THE CACHE FILE HAS HELPED, BUT IT STILL FREQUENTLY OCCURS.
YOU CAN DISABLE SHIFT-LOCK BY PRESSING SHIFT ONCE !
This could be a corruption in upgrade..
Backup the notes.ini file and then delete all the lines below directory= parameter.. and restart the client, follow the prompts

That was a good one Tom :-)
I'm just listening....
I've got the same annoying problem when editing a document with a number of computed texts. I usually have the designer client open as well. I recently upgraded from R5.07 to R6.01 (?).
Server (upgrade from/to the same versions) keeps running well. Not bad for a P133 / 48 MB / Win98 ;-)

Rename your address book database, (names.nsf) do not delete just rename you will need to copy/paste contacts from old to new.
Strip the notes.ini file from timezone=7 down to end of file. Restart notes, it will recreate a new names.nsf Address book database. delete local mail replica, than do new replication.
Addressbook open old & new giving old a different name, put a check mark on all contacts, click edit/copy
in the new addressbook click in the empty text body of the book, click edit/paste to paste contacts into new address book

In my case, I upgrade from R4.6 to R6.5. This is what I do :
I move desktop.dsk and names.nsf from R4.6. Then I upgrade R4.6 to R6.5.
Run notes
So Notes build blank new following files :
bookmark.nsf
desktop6.dsk
names.nsf
Close notes and remove bookmarks.nsf, desktop6.dsk and names.nsf. And put in notes/data old R4.6 files : names.nsf and desktop.dsk. Run again notes and so notes upgrade these files to bookmark.nsf and desktop6.dsk (names.nsf is not upgraded)
Then replace design of names.nsf to pernames.ntf. And so I never have the problem !
