Changing User Name
I am using Notes 5.06 and have a user who recently got married. I need to change the user's name in Notes and NT but cannot figure out how. Cany someone provide either a website that goes into this process in detail or provide simple steps. I looked at the Notes help and it is not helping all that much.

If you have not integrated Notes with NT upon installation be careful if changing the NT account credentials when issuing a rename I have seen problems with this process.

The user is not receiving the rename request. What does the user or I need to do to get this to happen?
Check your admin4.nsf database if any task pending just approve it.
Also, check the users person document in the address book and on the administration tab, check the change requests field and this should read something along the lines of "Pending".

The change requests field reads "None" I have followed all of the steps Herman suggested When I look in admin4.nsf and go to approve the rename request I don't get any buttons to approve or reject it. The action it says is to "initiate rename request" Finally does a rename require the deletion of the person's mail file or does it just edit it because this user also has a few mail file deletion requests?
Hi triadit,
When you look in adminp (admin4.nsf), you should see the "initiate rename request" document for the user, you should be able to expand this and there should be another document below this with either a tick or cross against this. If there is a tick the request has been succesffuly processed, if a cross open the document and look at the error section and this will describe why the transaction has failed.
Once this request is successfully it will then trigger a number of other request to process the rename in document etc.
The rename does not require deletion of the mailfile, it will just change the names within the fields on the file including ACL, documents etc.

I see neither a tick nor a cross. Instead I see what looks like 2 papers stacked on top of each other. On one side of the papers I see a green spot on the other a blue spot.
In the console issue this command
Tell AdminP Process All
This should process all adminp requests from admin4.nsf

I am now getting an error. It is: Error locating an Address Book entry for Certifier /O=Tfpi: Entry not found in index Any ideas as to what this error is.
Follow the steps mentioned in this note...http://www-1.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?rs=899&uid=swg21097210
When forcing adminp to push this request through, best to use "Tell adminp process interval" it allows greater control in the system.

Heman's link helped but I am still getting the same problem. I think the problem is related to the public key I was using to create the certifier being wrong. In order to get the correct certifier I need to open the certifier.id file and copy the public key. I can not figure out how to open the certifier.id file though. Any suggestions?
Do this through the Domino Admin client!

I am using the Domino Admin Client. Where in the Admin client do I go to do this?
In the link bullet 2 describes how to do it.

Actually the description on how to do it in the bullet 2 did not work. I figured it out though. My last question is how long should I expect it to take for the process to complete?
By default it is 1 hr...And it depends on your adminp interval set in server document (Look into Administration Process tab under server tasks) or your AdminPInterval parameter in notes.ini... I would suggest you to give it a manual kickoff with tell adminp process all command at console..
After changing the pyublic key did you restart the server ?

If you want me to break down the full adminp process just let me know
