Thanks Brad, definitely on the right lines what I am looking for. I get one problem though, when I click on &quot;choose&quot; to select my digital certificate, the box on my computer is completely empty so I have no certificates to choose from. If I double click it just asks me to select a certificate.<br />

Did you use Selfcert.exe to create a digital certificate first?<br />

I tested the procedure using Excel 2003, and did not have to relaunch Excel or reboot. Which version of Excel are you using?<br />

If a file is routinely uploaded from a shortcut on a desktop, would there be anyway to avoid the Macros warning and always except..enable Macros?<br />
