Problems with my web pages being too wide ???????????
I need immediate help with this problem!
I sell on ebay and have done so for years. Today I listed about 20 items and didn't notice this problem until after I was done. I can go back and correct the code if somebody can tell me what went wrong with this batch of listings. They are all the same way.
All of a sudden the page width is all screwed up! The page should be able to view without having to scroll side to side.
I use front page 2002 (XP) for the creation of this code. If you go to this link: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2548216922&category=45032&rd=1 you will see what I'm talking about. I do not know if the image at the bottom of the page has caused the change in width or if something has just gotten messed up with the template that I use. It is imperative that I find out ASAP as to what went wrong and what I need to do to make these web pages (auctions) be the correct width to where side to side scrolling is not necessay. PLEASE take a look and see if you can help me here. The image source is: http://www.gnt.net/~m-coon/Welder002.jpg . I do not have much time to correct the code. Please use the utmost urgency in your reply. I will supply you with the code or anything else you may need...... In fact I will post the code for that page here to expedite matters.

If it is not too much bother - could you please tell me precisely, step by step, in good old english - what it is that I need to do to correct what is going on here??? First - Are you saying that when I enter my code on ebay that they are adding to or changing parts of it???
Because it displays fine on my machine when I reveiw it.
So after you answer that - Tell me when and where am I supposed to change the code? Before I enter it into ebay or after they have made their changes?
I'm really confused because for years now I have used the same template - and it has always worked great....PLUS
I have noticed that if I leave out the "gallery" image... everything looks normal??? I can't help but suspect the image in some way. Maybe ebay is doing something to the code because the images are so large or something? But I need the gallery image so that people can preview the item as they are browsing. I hate to say this but I am a bit "slow" and am going to need a bit more clearification on what I am to do and why I am having to do it?
Please continue to help me here.......I really think I will get it with a bit more help. You got the points no matter what - And a big fat "A"!!!!!

I played around with my images tonight.....remember I suggested that I thought they were causing some problems......Well I fixed my own problem by reducing the image to 25% of the original!!! I do have another question for you. The guy that designed my template used a real fancy way of presenting the images. I am going to give you a couple of links to see the originals......I'd like to know if you know enough about this to be able to explain (teach) me how to apply these features to my images??? Well that's very odd, but I'm glad it works. The original code from your question shows the image as:
<img src="http://www.gnt.net/~m-coon/Welder002.jpg" border="0" width="160" height="160">
but it is displayed on the bottom of the page as 2272 x 1704. These were the actual dimensions, but your code clearly states for the browser to represent it as 160 x 160, so I'm not sure what you did there! As far as the "actual code" goes, there's no difference between the welder and the snorkel page.
As far as the images - Photoshop will probably be easier for you, but I like the images!
I've created a new template for you:

The process would go something like:
1. Open sm_template.psd
2. Open your graphic file, resize and crop to 155 x 155
3. Drag your file onto sm_template.psd, on top of layer 2 - the snorkel.
4. Hide the snorkel layer by clicking on the eye in the palette.
5. Position your new layer inside the outline box.
7. Load the selection "outline" that I created, position it so it lines up with the existing outline, select invert and clear.
8. You will now have the graphic as the same size as the shape, on top of the background.
9. Select save for web - jpg, and that's it.
10. Add more images as layers as necessary.

I found the old email from the person who created my template, and there were instructions in this e-mail as to how to work with ithe mages. I followed the instructions and was able to get it to work. I will try your way to see if it any easier - but like you said, he did not make it very easy to edit the photos in his process. I will get back with you - Thanks for all the help so far.
