Copying Outgoing Messages to User-Selected Folders
I've been long seeking a feature that an old email package I used had.
Upon sending a message, I was given a small window in which I could
select what folder I would like a copy filed. Is it possible to do
this (or something equivalent) with Outlook 2000? Do I need an add-on
of some sort?
Thanks.

By default, sent messages are stored in the Sent Items folder. Is this not suitable? You can change what folder there in by first turning off the option to save sent messages. >Tools - Options - Email Options. You can then set up a rule to save messages you send to what ever folder you want with the Rules Wizard.

Well...that's not exactly the capability I had in my previous email package (Beyond Mail). I want to be able to - on a message-by-message basis, select different folders for saving the sent message to. This way, I am filing my sent message to user-selectable folders as they are being set.
You can have it happen automatically using rules. Check out the rules wizard and set up messages sent to Steve to go into his folder, messages sent to Bob to go into his folder, etc.

no,no,no:
Let me clarify:
For each outgoing message, I want a prompt that asks me to which folder to copy the message. I want the ability to select a folder at the time the message is sent without any pre-determined rules.

no,no,no, I don't believe this can be done in Outlook2000. You could probably pay someone to write VBA code to do this.
I agree with slink9, this sounds like something too "user-friendly" for Outlook to allow you to do.
You might go to http://www.cdolive.com and post a question in their Experts forum, they might be able to point you to some sample code or a plug-in for Outlook that'll do this.

I agree with slink9, and further add that this sounds like something too "user-friendly" and convenient for Microsoft to allow Outlook to do. :)
