The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. Outlook 2003 Hangs on close -> HTTP connection to Exchange Server

Using:
Windows XP PRO (SP2)
Outlook 2003 (SP1)

I have a profile on my computer to connect to an Exchange Server via HTTP so that I don't need to make a VPN connection.  The connection works flawlessly, it connects to the exchange server, and I am able to send and receive e-mails perfectly.  The problem comes in when I try and close outlook.  

What happens is in the bottom right side of my task bar appears an Outlook Icon, I try and right-click it and nothing happens, I double click it and a popup msg appears stating:
“Outlook is not responding.  If you are using an Exchange server e-mail account, you can cancel pending server requests by clicking the Outlook icon in the notifications area, and then clicking Cancel Server Request on the shortcut menu.”

Yet when I right click nothing happens.
What I end up having to do is Ctrl+Alt+Del go to Task Manager and manually end the process “OUTLOOK.EXE”

What can I do to correct this issue?  

I have tried searching Microsoft’s Knowledge Base, and I came up short.  Just some articles that say you need to upgrade to XP service pack 2 which I already have done, and download the latest fixes for outlook 2003, which I have also already done.
