I have a user complaining of this exact same error. I am running Exchange 2k3 on a Windows 2003 SBS Server. So far I have found this error occurs when sending or updating a calendar event with someone outside of the company. Will update as I find a solution.

This may sound like a simple solution, but it worked for me. <br />

Back-up the folders listed below for the user : <br />
&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook<br />
&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook <br />
<br />
Perform a detect and repair, choose to reset defaults and restore shortcuts<br />
After the repair is done, restore the contains of the backed-up directories
