Cursor trouble

Asked by stevenlewis in Microsoft Word

Tags: cursor, word

I have a client (they all start this way) who when he opens a new word doc, the cursor is like it shoudl be. But if he types a line, and then hits enter (for a carriage return) the
doc moves to the next line as it should, but the cursor disappears. He can still type, and the letters show up fine, and if he hits backspace the cursor shows up again, but as soon as he hits return to move to the next line, it disappears again. I'm sure it's a setting somewhere, but not being a Word expert, I don't know where to look. He's not a very good typist, and needs to see the cursor.
I checked his settings against another users settings, and they seemed to be the same (the other user doesn''t exhibit this behavior)
If some one will let me know the setting (I will test it out on my Word) to turn it on and off
Also don't know if this makes a difference, but I will be testing on Word 2k, his is Word 2k3
TIA
