asked on
convert omg to mp3
How do I convert an omg sound file to mp3?
ASKER
dont see anything on omg files. i installed it and installed the codec and pack and wouldn't open an omg file.
Okay
Are you certain its an OMG file, and not an OGG file? The reason I ask, is that an OGG can be converted to MP3, using this program:

its an omg file (i believe it was from one of those sony vaio computer encoders). I tried renaming it to a ogg file and used both those programs (as well as others) and it always gave errors.
hello,
I which this could help you.
to convert from omg to mp3 i think you have to pass through .wav
you can download a software "rawavrecorder" from
www.rawavrecorder.homestead.com
then it is very easy to convert it to mp3.

When I try to open the omg file i get this error:
Severity = 3, RMACode = 0x80040011,
file:D:\-my music file.omg
Some components are not available to provide playback of this presentation on your system
Also this program seems to be a real audio to wav recorder.

Actually, there IS a way to convert OMG files to MP3 files, provided you have a Sony NetMD Minidisc recorder and the OpenMG Jukebox software.
What you can do is Record the ATRAC files onto the minidisc (using the "check-out" command) within the Sony OpenMG Jukebox.
Then, you can use the "check-in" command to copy the files from the MD to your hard drive in a variety of different formats, INCLUDING MP3. :)
Hope this helps

The Easiest way to convert to mp3 is with a sound recorder like super mp3 recorder. Just play the file in whatever program and record with "What you hear" to mp3 or wav format.
The HiMD N900 recorder allows you to directly upload the OMG file digitally to your hard drive. (USB link) providing it is a mic recorded file.. A program is then needed to convert from OMG to MP£. It may be possible to play the OMG directly on your PC and record the output, but that is NOT very elegat as a solution.
THIS IS THE PROGRAM HI MD Renderer
Its very basis but it works very well.
use batch mode to do a whole list of files at once.
