the first one PeteLong mentioned works well. I have found that it quite often does not build the floppy image correctly, if you get an error while it is initializing the linux kernel, just make the disk again, it should work. Once it took me over three disks to actually boot it.
"How do i  bypass the login screen or change the administrators password"

um, just what did you think that passwords were for?

Why ask it here in this TA instead of for the operating system used? Or why not ask as a Security question? This has nothing to do at all with applications.

Rather than try to crack your teacher's PC for a better grade, try asking the system administrator for professional help. Let them use their password to reset yours the proper way. Or hit the books instead of running kazaa.

This question and answer are shown to thousands of people all around the world. (please take no personal offense)
This is an OS question

yup I hate XP, sooo very much. we have had to migrate 2wice this year as if ISA, Win2kPro and Active Directory were not problems enough, we get an outsider and when i try to join his system to the domain, it fails, then i moved it to workgroup, then try to login and all the passwords won't work, because there is no domain called "WorkGroup" and I need to login to change move the system to the proper domain.

Winternals ERDCommander worked.

It was a desparate question as i am still trying to battle other problems more urgent than an XP password.. and I still have to build a website + a notes database all this year (documentation included) and I am still bleedin single
LOL It never rains eh?

I have deployed more than 300 workstations so far this year (win2k and XP). I have had no problems at all. Maybe there is another issue on your network, or something you are doing wrong?
BTW ERDcommander is great huh? I still would have chosen ntpass if I had no budget to spend, it has worked great for me in the past.
there is a lot wrong with our network,  as long as it is working (I don't wish to open it up, tio fix a problem that might bring it down entirely.. the fix i.e)
I don't blame you, we are currently restructring our entire infrastructure to get rid of errors made by previous admininstrators.
scarry.. we are planning to sit in the whole of December, cept christmas to sort things out for 2004. hope everything stays up that long cos it has been a constant troubleshooting year 2003.
I hear you. Not only are we restructuring, but our head office is moving in November as well :(__

When I start Task manager on my XP, what I get is only the inner frame of the task manager. So I can not switch to see for example memory/CPU diagram. The worse thing is that I can not terminate the a...
