GoBack WONT uninstall

Here's my problem.I installed GoBack 3.1 deluxe edition. My computer keeps freezing and I have to restart. When I restart, GoBack complains that the drive has been corrupted so it is disabling itself(when I really need it).I boot up Windows normally after a thorough pre-boot error checking of my NTFS drive. No problems to be found. But when i try to re-enable GoBack I can't.The boot screen that say's "press spacebar...." is gone. It's only protecting my secondary drive and not my promary drive. So I figure I'll uninstall then re-install to fix the problem.I go to Add/Remove Programs, click uninstall and it says,"Windows has configured Drive C: for MS-DOS Compatibility mode. This is preventing GoBack from uninstalling.Disable GoBack from the GoBack Boot Menu then try uninstalling again." So I go to the GoBack tray icon and click options and try to diable GoBack and it says,"Unable to communicate with GoBack device driver".So now I'm UNABLE to DISABLE or UNINSTALL GoBack. Will somebody please tell how to solve this?

What OS are you using?
Try Start->Run->Services and see if there's an underlying service there.
Alternatively, Click Start->Run->MSCONFIG and disable all items from the startup tab and all non-MS services and reboot. Now try to uninstall it. . .

Excellen sirbounty.Something very similar to that is what I wound up doing. But I tried to do delete and disable GoBack drivers and services in safe mode and Windows gave me a blue screen on bootup.I wind up having to re-install Windows but GoBack is gone.I like your way though. It's a lot more thorough.I actually performed most of the steps you said without looking at this page but I'm sure you went through a lot of trouble to get that answer so I'll give you the points anyway. Thanks a million, sirbounty.
Thanx!  Good luck with this in the future...
