MSN Messenger Error 81000306

I recently got requested to upgrade MSN Messenger 7.? to the latest 7.0.0816

Since then, every time I attempt to sign into msn messenger I get the following error message:

"We were unable to sign you into MSN Messenger, possibly because of a problem with the service or with your Internet connection. Please make sure that you are connected to the Internet. 81000306"

I have looked up this error on google, most places suggest turning off the proxy and sock settings allowing only the tcp settings.

I go to Tools, Options, Connection, Then Advanced Settings, and untick all of them apart from TCP. Then under TCP I click "Test TCP Connection", which says: "Resolving the server name...
Connecting to the server...
Connected, verifying ability to send data now...
Success, you can connect to the MSN Messenger service."
So that is working.
I press OK, and OK again.

Back to the options menu, I click "Test Connection..."
"Please wait...", So I wait... for about 1 or 2 mins.
Then there is an error: "We were unable to troubleshoot your connection to the .NET Messenger service. There is possibly a problem with the service, your Internet connection, or your proxy settings. Please check your settings and make sure you are connected to the Internet."

I am infact definatly connected to the internet, via my router, and am using it to make this post.

One additional thing to note, I do have MSNPlus installed, however this shouldn't interfear.

I have no other firewall software apart from the default windows one, which should work anyway.

So now what are my options? Where do I go from here? How do I fix it? What is the solution to this problem?
