Remote Desktop Connection
I've noticed that when you use RDS to log into a server that uses Windows Server 2003 Standard it allows you to log into the server in a "background" manner. Similar to the way Windows 2003 Terminal Server works. In other words, even if there's an admin currently using the server on location, the remote user can also work on it with no interference between them.
Is it possible to log onto a Windows XP Professional workstation with RDS in the same manner? I've found that when I try, it wants to first log off the local user before I can log in.
Thanks in advance!

The reason that RDC works like Terminal Services is that they are fundimentally the same thing. All MS server operating systems come with 2 free Terminal Services licenses, hence you can use RDC to connect to a virtual desktop on the server. XP doesn't run Terminal Services, so it won't allow virtual desktop access in the same way. The only solutions that I know of require server operating systems.

It worked perfectly after I worked around one issue...I had to modify the .reg file. Instead of "ControlSet001" I had to change the path to "CurrentControlSet". After that, it worked like a charm! Thanks!
