US Date Format when doing mail merge

When doing a mail merge into Microsoft Word from a web application we use, it is inserting all dates as US format (MM/DD/YYYY).

This is since upgrading from Word 2000 to Word XP.

I  have already tried the following:

checked Regional Settings (US Settings aren't even installed).

checked Language Settings in Microsoft Office Language tools - set to UK and removed the US language.

in Word, gone to tools->Languages and set to UK, and ticked "Default" (on both a blank word document, and on the mail merge template iteself.

None of this has made any difference. This problem only occurs on one PC, on all other PC's with the same OS and Office version, it works fine.

Any ideas?!

Thanks, what a useful "feature" that is! The strange thing is though, it only started since the upgrade to Word XP, and there are other people in the office with Word XP, and they didn't have a problem. Never mind, the above code should mean it works regardless, so, many thanks.
