McAfee Installation
I started having a problem when closing IE and getting error message " Memory could not be read, OK to close program."
I checked this out on EE and worked it down to the problem lies with McAfee. I have done a complete uninstall according to the instructions given by McAfee. By the way if I disable McAfee with msconfig in startup I do not have the problem. I reinstall and during the installation I get the message, "Mcaffee task scheduler has encountered a problem and needs to close," and the install appears to continue and finish.
Then my problem with closing IE reappears.
I have gone to the McAfee site and tried to ask a question but it says cookies are not enabled and I follow instructions and it keeps saying cookies are not enabled and they are.
I am running XP2.

Yes, what version?
If it is an enterprise on, then you can pick up patches for it: http://mysupport.nai.com
These patches are not downloaded through the normal update procedure.

Comments:
I already have AVG7.
The Control Center seems to be the problem and it tries to get me to run the free version, so I have to go to virus scan in programs to get the virus scan to run.
I have the home version latest updates.

Also, you've probably already done this, but:
Internet Explorer 6.x - go to Tools, Internet Options, and click on the Privacy Tab. Here you can change your settings for accepting or blocking cookies.
