progress usernames replaced by terminal numbers

Asked by Lieven_Embrechts in Progress 4GL Database, IBM AIX Unix

Tags: progress

We have a Progress application (mfgpro) that has it's own user management.
I had to add a user in the database admin-security, named sysprogress, in order to be able to connect to the database with a JDBC connection and have admin rights.
Before adding this sysprogress user in the progress database i had no users in admin-security.
Previously, when users were locking each other, the progress locking mechanism gave the initials of the locking user, allowing the locked user to know who locked him.
Currently (with the sysprogress daabase user prosent), almost no information is given by the locking mechanism: eg. 'ad_mstr in use by    on pts/14'.
i can type a 'who' command in aix to show the user of a certain terminal, however previously it was much more user-freindly.
anyone knows what's going on ?
why is it progress suddenly doesn't seem to know the current unix user any more ?

(AIX 5.2, Progress 9.1E)
