Hi everyone,
This probably sounds very simple and stupid, but I really have a problem here.
I have a few stations running legacy application that uses Btrieve 6.15. They are set up to run peer-to-peer, and have been experiencing extreme slowness whenever more than 1 person logs into the app. I tried to set the local file sharing to multi engine, but the settings won't "stick" (after save and exit, the next time I go in to check, it's back to single engine).
The OS is Windows XP pro SP2, users log in as local administrator. It had always been very straightforward until recently when they upgraded their hardware. Am I missing out something?

I've solved it.
I opened the Microkernel Workstation Engine, and saw the following error:
MKDE-2060: Error reading the registry. Error code: nn (where my nn = 2)

Check the permissions on the registry entries you are changing. It's possible that the registry isn't being updated.
Another thing, make sure you stop and restart the engine. Most setting changes require an engine restart to take effect. I think the only setting in v6.15 that doesn't require a restart is the Trace setting.
