The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. ACT to Palm synching

My user is dedicated to using ACT 9.0 for Windows to manage her contacts as well as calendar.  She used to use Outlook but no longer.  She just acquired a Palm Treo 755 and wants to sync her contacts as well as calendar.  So she is using CompanionLink software in "cooperation" with the Palm HotSync Manager.  But when she went to load her contacts onto her new device, she got duplicates of about 2/3 and triplicates of about 1/3.

My question is how does one set up the synchronization.  Here are my additional observations:
She still has some old contacts listed in Outlook--which means they are listed in BOTH Outlook and ACT!
There are synchronization settings in both the Palm HotSync manager as well as the CompanionLink software.

Is there anyone out there who can tell me what the "settings" would be so that we can do a hard reset on this phone and get it right once and for all.  I need to know:

Do we need to do anything with those contacts still listed in Outlook?
What settings do we need in the Custom setup for the HotSync Manger?
What settings do we need in the synchronization section of CompanionLink?
