Question

Input string was not in a correct format.

Asked by: Razzmataz73

We have Act Premium for Web 2006.

I can access it fine on the server.
But starting this morning when we try to login through internet explorer we get the error message:

Can anyone help?

Can you tell me if this happens with another database (eg the demo)?

It could be a corruption in the activities table

by: Razzmataz73Posted on 2009-08-27 at 07:36:27ID: 25198679

I don't think we have the demo database available anymore.
I was able to find the ACT8Demo on the server.
What do I need to be able to do in order to get that one live on the internet?

Also when I go to Tools--> Website Administration
Web Server -->Test  IT PASSES
User Account -->Test IT PASSES
Databases -->Test IT PASSES

But Virtual Directiors  --> Test. brings up the browser and when I login it give that error page.
(In case that helps).

Create a new database... then add it in Web Admin databases and see.

Ok,
I was able to create a new database called testing.
Added it to the web.

And I get the same error after I login.

I just checked.
And we cannot synch to the ACT server using Premium for workgroups either.

by: Razzmataz73Posted on 2009-08-27 at 08:15:21ID: 25199191

Ignore that last comment.
We ARE able to successfully synch using the ACT Premium for workgroups 2006.
We just can't connect with the web application.

I just checked with our users and everything was working fine until at least 4pm yesterday.
Then this issue was noticed at 9am this morning.

Is there something I should be looking for on the server?
I ran a virus scan and it didn't find anything.

We have had the program running on this server since 2007.
We can access it through premuim for workgroups remotly, and directly on the server.
We just can't access it through the web, we get the error:

Server Error in '/APFW' Application.
Input string was not in a correct format.

I uninstalled the windows updates from this morning and things are working now.

Microsoft pushed out an update KB970653-v3 last week. It seems to have caused this issue with the older Web versions.

Uninstall it and it will work  again.
