I am new at a company that uses ACT. I have been reading about the install process and understand that if it is a server install, disk 2 is required. How is installation using disk 2 different than regular installation?
I ask becuase I am trying to get databases remotely accessible over a VPN. I have been troubleshooting this issue, but am stuck because our server has no installation of SQL Browser in sight. The SQL database it is running is an instance of MSSQL$ACT7.
Is it possible that the guy who set the server up set it up like a client rather than a server?

Disk 2 is the SQL 2000 standard CD for use when installing on a server OS... it was only part of ACT! 2006 Premium

ACT! 2006 probably work run properly on SBS 2K8 - it used SQL 2000 which MS doesn't really support on the new later OS.
I'd look at upgrading to ACT! 2010 which uses SQL 2005
