How would I get Goldmine macros to run in Windows Vista when using Goldmine 6.5

In Vista, It seams that when User Access Control is on, Goldmine is unable to run its own macros.

Any trick to get macros working without turning off UAC?

Macro issues are a known problem with GM on Vista and is unlikely to be fixed

I realize this probably isn't what you want to hear, but... 6.5 isn't supported in a Vista environment, and the answer, most likely, is "you can't."

Maybe leave this open for a while and see if someone else has an idea.

Yes... I understood that. I am hoping someone has happened across a workaround.

Considering that turning off UAC allows the Goldmine macros to work, I was hoping some change to Permissions, Policy or some such related change would get around the known issue, yet allow UAC  to remain on.

You could try setting the shortcut to "Run As Administrator"

Was worth a try but unfortunately "no joy".

I might add, when hitting CTRL+SHIFT+HOME to start creating a macro (when UAC is on), the record pop-up does flash up for just a micro-second.

If we can figure out what it is about UAC that is closing the record pop-up, we just might happen across a work-around.
