Valid name, no data record of requested type.

Doublecheck your smtp settings within GoldMine. Either Edit | Preferences | Internet or Edit | Preferences | Email or Tools | Options | Email (depending on what version of goldmine you have.
Then take a look at your designated smtp server, i.e. smtp.myserver.com
Next, open a command window, and telnet to the server name you found (above), i.e.
"telnet smtp.myserver.com 25"
If it's alive, the screen should go instantly black. Otherwise it will time out.
If it times out, either that server isn't "seeable" from your computer, or you're using a non-standard port. To check the port setting go back into the GoldMine settings and click Advanced (on the email info tab), and drill down 'til you see the port you're using.

Most likely it's an issue with the DNS of the mail server. e.com/Soft ware/Serve r_Software / Email_Ser vers/Excha nge/Q_2425 6221.html
