1) I am comfortable with control center for configuring, establishing connections and its GUI.
2) For configuring in Client Configuration Assistant, there are 6 protocols: Local, Named pipes, TCP/IP, NetBIOS, APPC and a disabled IPX/SPX since not Novell Netware.
3) DB2 EE 7.2 server is installed on my machine. I am trying to connect from my m/c client to my m/c server.
4) Only Local protocol is establishing successful connection to all databases.
5) With named pipes the error is, [IBM][CLI Driver] SQL1334N  The database server cannot be used to route a remote request to a second database server in this configuration.
6) With TCP/IP, I provided IP and PORT=50000 & the error is [IBM][CLI Driver] SQL30081N  A communication error has been detected.  Communication protocol being used: "TCP/IP".  Communication API being used: "SOCKETS".  Location where the error was detected: "".  Communication function detecting the error: "connect".  Protocol specific error code(s): "10061", "*", "*".  SQLSTATE=08001
Is the PORT number correct.
7) With NetBIOS, it is asking for server workstation name with local workstation name being N004D14C. I gave the same and got an error as in 5).
8) With APPC, I do not know what to enter for Connection symbolic destination name.
9) When configuring from remote client to my server in intranet, what all protocols can I use and what info in above to be filled up in each protocol case.
10) Should I choose Search the network OR Manual configuration from the remote client.
