Browse All TopicsIm not going to pretend that I know much about DBA - my tech department has been less than helpful and has given me no real help or insight into my problem. I am pretty much on my own to solve the problem and I hope that someone out there has run into a similar problem:
I am attempting to run access databases that query information from company databases, but keep getting the same error:SQL1224N A database agent could not be started to service a request, or was terminated as a result of a database system shutdown or a force command SQLSTATE=5503. I know that there is nothing wrong with the database because I can connect to everything and query information from these databases when i am at work but not from home.
I am using a global network client over a secure VPN access which should be the same as if I were sitting at my desk at work. I can log into the company mainframe and even see the tables that I want to query information from - I can see the table names as well as what is in the tables, just for whatever reason I cant seem to access the information.
Hope someone out there has encountered this problem and knows how to work around it - that would make my life so much easier - thanks in advance for the help.
