Disk is Full - error message in Publisher

When saving a Publisher file for use as a webpage, I get an error message that says :The Disk is full.  Can not save (filename).  Try another disk"  The disk is not full.  I have over 23GB of free space. I tried saving the file on four other computers, I got the same error.

The file is 89MB (large file)  I tried breaking it into four smaller files and none of them would save.  Same error messsage.

I'll try and offer some ideas only, in my opinion most often these errors don't always point to what we think.
If you have insufficient ram the hard drive space will be used instead if the hard drive is fragged there won't be enough contigoius space.
When windows detects that any harddrive partition is low in space, it will let you know so I would try running scandisk to fix any small errors first.
Sometimes free space can be mis-reported, and scan disc may fix this.
Then run a disc defrag.

See how you go.

Guru, That was a good suggestions, but it did not work.  I ran "disk-Cleanup" (I'm running Vista), also ranm defrag, although the computer did not need it.  I turned off all anti-virus programs.  Got the same message.  Any other suggestions?  Please!
You missed one try the disk check ie>>scandisk to fix any small errors
http://www.tech-faq.com/scan-disk.shtml
Can't really pin point it coudl be lots of things, like if the bios is not reading the hard disc right.
Large hard disc have to set in teh bios.
As it's erroring across the board no matter where you send it may be insufficient ram.
What's the  processor speed etc
did this start recently?
Could be accessing a network on a  mapped drive
how much  ram onboard?
less than 2 gig using Vista will not be good.
I tried saving the file on four other computers, I got the same error.<< is this on a Lan?
What cabling do you use?
100.0 Mbps ?
Try turning off the firewall
when you transfile the file open your task manager and monitor what system resources are peaking
Check the events errors
are you using a firewire or usb?
What else is running?
Ran scandisk (on the Vista computer)
Problem occurred on four different and separate computers at 4 different locations.
bios is not reading the hard disc right....on all 4 computers??
Large hard disc have to set in the bios  (Don't know what that means).
As it's erroring across the board no matter where you send it may be insufficient ram. (4GB Ram on Vista)
What's the  processor speed etc  (2.67GHz)
did this start recently?  (This file has always saved normally, for all four programmers.  Just started to malfunction last week.)
Could be accessing a network on a  mapped drive  (Not sure what this means.  two of the computers are stand alone (no network)  the other two are on wireless networks)
how much  ram onboard?  (4 GB)
less than 2 gig using Vista will not be good.
I tried saving the file on four other computers, I got the same error.<< is this on a Lan?  (one of the computers was on a LAN)
What cabling do you use?  (Not sure what that has to do with saving a file on the hard drive)
100.0 Mbps ? (????)
Try turning off the firewall (all firewalls are turned off)
when you transfile the file open your task manager and monitor what system resources are peaking (Happens too quickly to check)
Check the events errors  (No idea what I am looking at in there)
are you using a firewire or usb?  (For what?  Using for what?  I am trying to save a file to my hard drive.  What does a usb or firewire have to do with that?)
What else is running?  Nothing else is running.  Publisher is the only app running.  Everything is disabled.
Tried again - Same error message.
Are you getting this error no matter where you try to save the file?  If you have only tried one location try the User's My Documents folder or a new, empty temp folder (e.g.  C:\Temp).
If you right click on the icon to start Publisher and choose Run As Administrator does that make a difference?
What type of user account is your Windows user?

Yes, no mattwer where we try to save and no matter what computrer we are saving on.  Common denominator pould point us to the file itself having a ap[roblem, but the error message is "Disk is Full"

Right now I am on my Vista Machine.  There is no "Run as Administrator" in Vista (at least no on a right click.

On this computer i am the only user, the Administrator - owner

I deleted everything from the C:\Windows\Temp folder and tried again.

Same error message Disk is Full
>>  There is no "Run as Administrator" in Vista (at least no on a right click. <<
Vista isn't my expertise, I am still hoping I won't have to accept it, but it does have that option and it can be key sometimes.  Look at the icon you use to start the program.  Right click on it and the option should be there.  You left click it and then start the program.  I haven't taken the time to see if that setting is persistent but I don't believe it is from feedback I have received.  Please look again clicking on the icon or shortcut.  It should be there.
Vista doesn't actually have an Administrators group like previous OSs had but there are times where that option will be important and needed.
One other option that may help, whether the above does or doesn't, is the choice to use "compatibility mode."  There are some details on this and its options at http://windowshelp.microsoft.com/Windows/en-us/help/bf416877-c83f-4476-a3da-8ec98dcf5f101033.mspx .  Let me know how the above works and I can make suggestions and help you use the compatibility mode if needed.

I found the "run as administrator  In Vista you have to to the root directory in Program Files\Microsoft office11

I ran Publisher as Administrator - Same error

I del;eted the index_file folder and the index.htm from the directory where I want to save tyhe webpage and tried it again.  Same error.

I'm checking out Compatibility mode now.
I tried the compatibility mode.  Simple enough to follow.  Same error message.
Hi again, from what I've read there is multiple options to save the file if you wish to review it save as a PDF.
or saving  the Publication as web publication instead of print publication
here's how to>
Save a publication as a PDF file or an XPS file
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/publisher/HA100643861033.aspx
Is the directory correct  the folder not read only?
Ask yourself these questions>>
Did you  use the pack and go feature to transport this file to another computer?
If you did did you embed the fonts and graphics when the option came up in the pack and go?
Are you  sure you didn't save it as a web page instead of a publisher document?
Do you still have the original unaltered backed up copy of the source file on your home pc?
You mention in one of your comments>>
did this start recently?  (This file has always saved normally, for all four programmers. << 4 programmers? may hold a key..
 >>Just started to malfunction last week.)

Could be some missing content or the way you are saving it?
If Publishers can't read all the contents correctly it may produce this error.
Look into the contents are right, maybe one of the other programmers altered the contents at some stage and not save it right?
Windows Vista and Microsoft Publisher 2007
This page describes Windows Vista and Microsoft Publisher 2007. ... Save Office Publisher 2007 files in a fixed file format, such as Portable Document
http://www.windows-vista-update.com/Windows_Vista_and_Microsoft_Publisher_2007.html
You are a pretty good investigator.  I'm confident that we'll find a solution.  Let me take your questions one at a time:

First please note - This is in Publisher 2003 (not 2007)  the link you gave to save as a pdf is for Publisher 2007 only.

The folder is read only.  In fact, we have tried to save it in numerous different folders.  Same results.
We DID NOT use the Pack-up and Go feature.  Actually we never have.  in it's original format it is a single .pub file.  All my publisher files have been copied, uploaded, emailed, transferred to a jump drive, moved in various ways.  Each time it is edited and modifications made.  It is only moved as a .pub file.  The last step before uploading to the website is "publish to the Web" where it is converted from a .pub file to html.  This is where we are getting the Disk Full error.  We always save it as a Publisher file.
I have the original backed up file on my computer which I have tried to save unsuccessfully.

The file has always been maintained as a .pub file. There is one thing different since the last edits were made.  It appears that one of the designers selected a font that was not available -  when opening the .pub file, there is a "font related' message.  It appears the last person to edit the .pub file added a font.  The message reads: The font information below shows what fonts are embedded in your publication or are unavailable.  It lists a fontname:  Denmark  and offers the choices "OK or Cancel".  I have marked the font to be substituted with Times new roman and clicked OK and the .pub file opens.

Your last link is for Publisher 2007.  Wont help

Would it help if you had the file yourself.  I have it sitting in a folder on my website.  I can give you the link and you can download it.  Just a suggestion.
OK, I found an earlier version of the .pub file that converted easily and was able to Publish to Web.

There are a few items that have to be added to bring it current, but that may be the only way.
