Miles to Latitude and Longitude,uk

Hi

I just wanted to find out how to convert miles to latitude and longitude in the UK. I have scoured the net and found that 1 degree of latitude converts to ~70 miles regardless of location, however the conversion of miles to longitude varies depending on location. What is this in the UK?

This is pretty urgent and I would be extremely grateful for this information.
