Firebird - "Provider Cannot Be Found, It May Not Be Properly Installed" on SBS2000 machine

We have a industry typical application that needs Firebird as backend.

From the company that created the software, it takes ages to get an answer. So i'll ask it here.

I don't think it's application it self, but rather the firebird database.
When launching the application, we get the error message from Firebird "Provider Cannot Be Found, It May Not Be Properly Installed". Originally, the application needs Firebird 2.0, but i downloaded te latest version, installed even ODBC driver but always the same error.

I must note the server in question is a SBS2000 with ISA server. I've opened port 3050 inbound. With telnet on the local machine or a client i have assess to the port.
