Firebird Client Connection Problem

I have a problem connecting from my client machine to the firebird server using the BDE (Borland Database Engine).
The connection was working fine until I installed the Firebird Server on the client machine and then uninstalled it to resume the client/server relationship.
I think the installation of the Firebird Server caused some sort of conflict with the drivers.
I now need to connect to the Firebird Server on the Server Machine using BDE and Interbase Client 6.0
Anyone have any ideas how I can get this connection working again?

Uninstall and reinstall BDE.

I had already uninstalled the BDE and Interbase Client files, restarted the client machine and re-installed them both.
This did not solve the problem.

when you uninstalled firebird server, you may have uninstall all firebird parts, try reinstalling the client

I have installed the client using an Interbase 6.0 Client Installation, but think that is where the problem is. I need an updated firebird client installation that will allow the BDE to connect to an INTRBASE database.
Where can I get the firebird client download that will install ther INTRBASE driver?

I would basically like to know what files the firebird server setup installs, so I can manually delete the dll's that probably weren't uninstalled. Anybody have any ideas?

If you installed without any changes, you need to get a gds32.dll from the Interbase 6. Firebird create a gds32.dll in windows/system32 which is a copy of the its own dll (fbclient.dll). I believe the older gds32.dll which bde uses got overwriten by Fb Server installation.

Ah, if you ever need to reinstall Firebird again, remember to uncheck the checkbox that configures the creation of  the gds32.dll.

Best is just to un-install firebird, delete the gds32.dll form the system32 directory then re-install Firebird and make sure you check the checkbox to create a new gds32.dll

You need to copy the younger version of the gds32.dll file into the system32 folder. This fixed the problem.
