Yes and no. Some programs meant for 32 bit operating systems can run in compatibility mode on 64 bit operating systems. I do not know if this database product will support that.
From MS itself.
Most programs designed for a computer running a 32-bit version of Windows will work on a computer running 64-bit versions of Windows. Notable exceptions are many antivirus programs, and some hardware drivers.
Drivers designed for 32-bit versions of Windows do not work on computers running a 64-bit version of Windows. If you're trying to install a printer or other device that only has 32-bit drivers available, it won't work correctly on a 64-bit version of Windows. xxdcmast is correct. We have an 32bit accounting appilcation that requires a specific printer driver and fails when trying to install it on a 64bit machine. I good work around is if you have Windows 7 Pre, Ent, or Ult to use XP mode downloadable from Microsofts website. This will install a 32bit version of XP that will run your native applications that will not run in 64bit Windows 7. The run via remote terminal session. Pretty neat if you ask me. Fixes many isses included requirements of IE6 or IE7..
You'd be pretty surprised. We are currently upgrading our machine that were vista ent to windows 7 ent. I am building the base image now to deploy to the users. We are incorporating the xp mode into them because we want everyone to eventually have windows 7. You could consider our IT dept bleeding edge. I hope it woerks out for you in the long run. So far I am happy with it.
