SSRS Execution Log

Hello Guys,

I had a doubt regarding the Executionlogs of SSRS database.
At my workplace, in the SSRS server properties, under Logging, I see that the field
Remove Log entries older than this number of days has been set to 0

I don't understand what does it signifies. Wherever I searched on the Internet I found that the default value is 60 days. Also under the advanced option of SSRS server report properties, the field
ExecutionLogDaysKept is left blank.

Kindly explain this to me.

Just to add, this comes from Microsoft technet:

"ExecutionLogDaysKept: The number of days to keep report execution information in the execution log. Valid values for this property include 0 through 2,147,483,647. If the value is 0 entries are not deleted from the Execution Log table. The default value is 60."

So in your case all history should be kept. Best to check the records anyway as described above to make sure.

Thanks for your reply.
In the report server database, I see exactly last 60 days records.
Is there anyway to check if the ExecutionLogDaysKept value was altered or changed in the past?

I don't think it's possible to check this. It might be wise to change the value back to what you would like it to be though. It's an administrator setting so normally only admins would be able to touch it. As such I don't think it's worthwhile to create a custom trigger to check for changes to that particular field. Just check periodically if the issue resurfaces. If it does, you can take follow up action.

Can i ask why you request to close the question rather than accept my comments as answer? You asked for clarification on what a 0 value signifies, which was given. I also provided you some ways to check what was exactly happening. I fail to see why the question is not answered.
