SQL install for the first time
Hi,
I’m installing SQL Server 2008 R2 Standard for the first time in a Windows domain environment.
A few questions and assumption I’m making around the install.
1) Install SQL server using the domain admin account.
2) From the instance and shared features to install should I select all? Are there any I don’t really need for a normal standalone instance?
3) In terms of the SQL Services running on the server any reason why I just can’t use local system account for all of these?
4) In account provisioning I would be recommended to use mixed mode and for Windows domain based SQL administration select a domain account with local server admin but not the domain admin account. For SA just create a good password?
Thanks,
Martyn

So for point 3 create a local server admin but not domain account for the services?
