T-SQL 2012 server auto grow question
Preparing for the SQL 2012 MS exam 70-462, constantly seeing all review materials mention about reducing the frequency of triggering the auto growth.
I got the point that the more frequently it triggers auto grow, the more fragmented the files are. It would be slower to read in the future. But can't we just do a disk defragment and resolve this concern? If so, what is the big deal about it?
I would appreciate your help to clarify my confusion.
