You would need something like MS Office for the Mac or Open Office.

ASKER

But MS Office for Mac doesn't support Access. My application is developed in Access 2007. Are there any tools/runtime software etc i could use to view/edit it on Mac?

Thanks, i'll have a look at both options and see what works.
And I'm not running it, but I think that the latest version of Open Office does support the Access 2007 files.
So if i install open office on the apple mac and then install Access 2007 database - there's a chance it will work? I'm going to give it a try.

Gosh, thanks. That's quite a train smash. Would i be able to redevelop the database in BASE using Open Office for PCs and would that BASE version be compatible on the Open Office for Macs?
Don't know the answer to this question, but if you are doing anything serious with Access and want to continue to do so, you would probably be better served by installing Parallels or VMWare Fusion and just running your Window's apps.   I am running Parallels on my systems and I've played with Fusion and found them to be really good applications.

Great, thanks - i'll look at running parallels and redeveloping in BASE.
Good Luck

OK...if you have any questions about Parallels post them here and we'll address them as well.
jhyiesla- To be fair .. open ended questions are not a good idea.

The original question has been answered 110%.  The asker should allocate or split points and open another question related to Parallels.
Sorry...didn't make it clear. I didn't mean to post it "here" within this question, but "here" on EE in a new question.
Apologese if i've done the awarding of points incorrectly - this is the first time i'm using this app and don't know how it all works yet.
Anneline .. it is VERY easy to close a question.

1. If 1 person provided the answer just click the link "Accept as Solution" beside their reponse.
2. If several people gave you some of the answer click "Accept Multiple Solutions" on one of the partial answers.
You can then select all of the responses that were relevant and split the 500 points according to which answers were the most use.

Please try and allocate all the points and this will close the question.

There is lots more advise on how to close a question in the Help Section  - https://www.experts-exchange.com/help.jsp#hs8
Thanks.
I enjoyed both jyyiesla & eoinosullivan's comments as they were more informative and included links to sites etc.
