Cannot open database". It may not be a database that your application recognizes, or the file may be corrupt

I get the below message in access all the time and do not know what causes it.  I can run a Create Table Query several times(replacing the previous table of the same name) without issue then all of the sudden i get the message.  and the only way i can get around it is to copy everything into a new database and start over.  Any ideas?

Could be any number of issues and need a lot more detail.

1. What version of Access?
2. Is the DB an MDB or an ACCDB?
3. Is the DB local to you or is it sitting on a server?
4. Do you get any error messages during the operation?
5. Is the app complied?
6. Is this something new or something that started only recently?
7. Do you have error trapping in-place when running the query?

Jim.

Could be any number of issues and need a lot more detail.

1. What version of Access?  - 2010
2. Is the DB an MDB or an ACCDB?  Dont know the difference the database i am querying is ODBC
3. Is the DB local to you or is it sitting on a server?  Sitting on a server
4. Do you get any error messages during the operation? At first it try's to run then in the middle i get the message, once i get the message it is instant any time I try to save a change or rerun.
5. Is the app complied?  Not sure what you mean here.
6. Is this something new or something that started only recently?  After creating I can run it once or twice a day for roughly 10 days before i get the error.
7. Do you have error trapping in-place when running the query? No, What is error trapping?
I am running a Compact/repair now.  I am dealing with a lot of data, so reaching the max kind of makes sense.
Thank you, To much data was my problem, I deleted a large amount of uneccessary data from test reports and ran the Compact/Repair and everything is working great again.

Thank you
I keep getting this same error. I am no where near the 2 gig limit.

1) I have run a compact repair on the datasbase and it doesn't fix the problem.

2) The datasbase is an mdb

3) I have an archived version of Access 2010, but I originally opened the database in Access 2013. I have since been working with it only in Access 2010 but that doesn't seem to have fixed the issue

4) The problem occurs when I try to export 4 tables. All other queries and modules exported fine into the new database

5) The database was originally stored on the server, but I copied it to my desktop.

I hope that is enough information, and you might be able to point me in the right direction.
