Browse All TopicsI have just setup 2 NT 4.0 workstations on a small LAN. I am trying to execute a Delphi program(That is on the network) that accesses some Visual DBase databases... I get an error when it is trying to load up. The error pops up in a message box
"Exception EDBEngine Error in module myprogram.exe at 0004A7E0. Unknown Database. Alias:mission."
Does anyone know how to fix this problem. The version of Visual DBase is 5.5, Delphi is 2.0, NT is 4.0 with service pack 4. Thanks....

There is an application that comes with the delphi program somewhere called BDEADMIN.EXE...you will want to locate this application and run it. When it opens there should be a tab that says Database....on that tab are all the DB aliases...there should be one on it called mission. Chech the settings for this alias and see if you see anything out of order. I don't know how Visual Dbase works but for like access it would have a path to the access database and for oracle it would have all the server information.
See if that helps any. Good Luck.
