The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

SQL* Loader 500, 553, 509 Error

Asked by mdhingra in Databases Miscellaneous

Tags: file, open, unable

We are using Oracle 8.17 and I am trying to load data into a oracle table.  Data starts going into the table and then when a commit point reached -logical record count 13077.  There should be 13077 records in the file, but I still get the following error:

SQL* Loader 500: Unable to open file
SQL* Loader 553: File not found
SQL* Loader 509: System error: The system can not find the file specified.

When I count the record in the table, there is actually 11,564 records.

This is my command line that I am executing to load the data:
cd c:\uploads\BODint\software\
sqlldr <username>/<password>@<connection> control=bod.ctl log=c:bod.log

This is my control file:
load data
INFILE 'C:\uploads\BODInt\Data\bod.dat'
infile 'bod.dat'
badfile 'bod.bad'
discardfile 'bod.dsc'
replace
into table bodtemp
when (7) !='"'
fields terminated by ',' optionally enclosed by '"'
(bdtp_usage_code            CHAR NULLIF bdtp_usage_code= BLANKS,
bdtp_effective_date         CHAR NULLIF bdtp_effective_date= BLANKS)
into table bodtemp
when (7) ='"' and (48) !='C'
fields terminated by ',' optionally enclosed by '"'
(bdtp_cost_cntr_ref        POSITION(2:6)   CHAR NULLIF bdtp_cost_cntr_ref= BLANKS,
bdtp_level                 POSITION(10:11)   CHAR NULLIF bdtp_level= BLANKS,
bdtp_cost_cntr_desc        POSITION(15:44)   CHAR NULLIF bdtp_cost_cntr_desc= BLANKS,
