Connecting an Interbase database with another isc4.gdb

Hi

We have a little problem with Interbase. We want to run 2 databases on the same machine, but they both have another SYSDBA password (Don't ask... :) )

I think there's a way to connect an interbase database with another security database (isc4.gdb). EMS Quickdesk (recently re-baptised as 'IB Manager') has an option when registering a database to change the isc4.gdb path.

Does anyone know how this can be done without quickdesk?

IB Expert also allows you to pick isc4.gdb. Unfortunately you cannot through the BDE or TDatabase. Even though you change this path when registering, quickdesk or IB Expert use their own connection via the client to connect and do not use the BDE. Conversely, changing the isc4.gdb path within one of these apps will not effect the BDE or its' connection to your server.
