I am able to use the Relations link on my ERD diagram that I created in Visio and tell it one-to-many, etc., but how can I get the actual one-to-many and other symbols to show on the actual link (arrow) itself? I hope Microsoft has this ability here but I cannot figure out how to get it to work.

A source model is a Visio file (.vsd) in which you create your database model. Each source model file can contain a portion (or submodel) of the entire database model.
In Visio 2000, you can use the ER Source Model solution or the ORM Source Model solution to create a source model file. To support database modeling in a team environment, Visio products includes the ER Source Model template. Create a new logical model with this solution when:
You want to break a large or complete model into smaller, easier-to-maintain submodels.
Individual team members need to develop and maintain different submodels on their own computers.
You want to design modular submodel documents for use in multiple projects.
When you work in the Database Model Diagram, ER Source Model, or ORM Source Model template, you can import data models in the formats listed below.
After you import an existing model, your Visio product displays all its tables and views in the Tables window.

You can import existing Visio® Professional 5.0 diagrams (.vsd files) that were created with the:

You can import PLATINUM ERwin 2.6, 3.0, and 3.52 (.erx) files. An ERwin .erx file is a file exported by ERwin that contains information about a data model in text form.
When you import an .erx file, the following ERwin features are not imported:
Stored procedures
Custom trigger code

If you click File - New - Database - Database Model Diagram, then choose, Database - Reverse Engineering, you should get some choices. Visio has installed drivers but I think you'll need to setup an ODBC connection to your data source which you can do as part of the reverse eng. process. You could connect to access, oracle, sql, informix, etc...

I opened an ERD from another person and it says I don't have the ER source model support installed. How do I get this installed and what is it?
