Browse All TopicsHi,
I used this statement to update one column the 1st table from column value in a 2nd table:
update testb1
set col2=(select col2 from testb2 where testb2.col1=testb1.col1)
But this not only update all rows in testb1 where testb2.col1=testb1.col1, but those with testb2.col1!=testb1.col1 also get updated with value null.
If I put a where condition:
update testb1
set col2=(select col2 from testb2 where testb2.col1=testb1.col1)
where col1='test'
It will only accept literal value, I can't put another table's info there.
Can anyone tell me how do I update only a portion of the rows based on another table.
Thanks
