Change time format using SQL

I am using a specialized version of SQLPlus to generate a query and then pasting this query into another application to get the data.  For these reasons the SQL functions are very limited AND the query MUST be only one line of code.

Here is my current query.

SELECT ts, avg FROM aggregates WHERE name='T2EG:AE143201.PV' AND ts >= '01-JAN-07 00:00:00' and ts < current_timestamp AND period = 1:00

My problem is that this returns ts (time_stamp) as the format , "06-JAN-07 21:00:00.0".  The other application freaks out when it sees the tenths of seconds (the .0 part of the time).

I can use TRIM, TRUNC, ROUND, and CAST to my knowledge.  

Can someone help by using one of these funtions in the above one line code to remove the ".0" from the timestamp?  Remember - I can only use a one line query.

I can't use that.  I need to use the functions above and I need help integrating it in the one line of code above.  This would only fix one of my lines of the return.

My return looks like this but has about 8000 lines.

That's what I was thinking...LEFT("06-JAN-07 21:00:00.0", LEN("06-JAN-07 21:00:00.0") -2)

It says the following about LEFT

The default is to right justify columns that have data type INTEGER or REAL and to left justify all other columns. However, the justification of a column can be specified in the SELECT statement using the keyword LEFT, RIGHT, CENTRE or CENTER.
Example:

SELECT Name RIGHT, IP_TREND_VALUE LEFT FROM IP_AIDef;

It doesn't say anything about LEN().

Based on http://www.cs.odu.edu/~ibl/450/common/sqlstring.html maybe something like this will work?

SELECT ts, avg FROM aggregates WHERE name='T2EG:AE143201.PV' AND SUBSTR(ts,1,LENGTH(ts)-2) >= '01-JAN-07 00:00:00' and ts < current_timestamp AND period = 1:00

Question: is there nothing you can do in your other app to mitigate this?

I've never worked with SQLPlus and have only very, very limited experience with Oracle :)

I tried pasting this in but my version of SQL plus doesn't recognize SUBSTR.

SELECT ts, avg FROM aggregates WHERE name='T2EG:AE143201.PV' AND SUBSTR(ts,1,LENGTH(ts)-2) >= '01-JAN-07 00:00:00' and ts < current_timestamp AND period = 1:00

Unfortunately there is nothing I can do in the other application to fix this.  I tried that first.

If you can use TRUNC then you can try this:

SELECT ts,avg FROM aggregates WHERE name='T2EG:AE143201.PV' AND TRUNC(ts) >= '01-JAN-07 00:00:00' and TRUNC(ts)<current_timestamp AND period=1:00;

This didn't work because my version will not allow variables for the TRUNC funtion, only REAL numbers.  I contacted the support of both applications and they found a solution.

SELECT cast(ts as CHAR FORMAT 'DD-MON-YY HH:MI'), cast(avg as INTEGER) FROM aggregates WHERE name='T2EG:AE143201.PV' AND ts >= '01-JAN-07 00:00:00' and ts < current_timestamp AND period = 1:00;
