just try to build a Web Project , then the linux client also can access

In my opinion, Mono is an option but it is most useful if you STARTED your .NET project with Mono im mind and limited your programming to use only the common set of classes between Mono and .NET.
If you did your development with only .NET in mind, you may have coded your selves into a corner so to speak and will be needing to do significant design and programming changes to get your application to run on Mono. This is not to say that Mono is bad, it's just that Mono is a SUBSET of .NET.
If you wanted to end up with a platform independent application you probably made a bit mistake by choosing .NET and VB for your development environment. I would have recommended Java for this purpose...
