hello, anybody knows a program for converting "unknown" file types? Its a txt file containing data, price list.

I have a price list to be imported in a management program with the choise to import different file types, but not this type:
"011-R0011";"";"";"";"KEY BLANK";"";"STYCK";"02187";"FORD";"";"0";"0";"38"
Cant recognice it, so im looking for a conversion program.
It is about 1.300.000 lines so it dont work in excel.

This seems to be just string quoted CSV file but the delimeter is ; (semi-colon), you can create one from excel application using custom delimeters. For using it, just replace the ; (semi-colon) with , (comma) and rename the file as .csv extention.

I remember you could import data from a comma separated file (csv), using  bcp utility into sql sever:

It is also interesting that you point out which File/DB format does the management program consume.

i can use
*.txt tab and comma separated, and SDF
*.dbf foxplus, fox2x and Visual Foxpro
*.* csv
*.xls
*.rs Adors

So it seems that your file is currently in (*.CSV) format [thanks to asvforce] , if you want to convert the delimiters, you can do this with PowerGREP. It is a powerful utility that can perform find and replace on mutiple files at the same time using reqular expressions:
